Part One: The Garden of God

I'm excited to announce that I'm starting a new series! June is coming to a close and a new month is about to begin, and with the first day of July just on the horizon I've decided to publish the first post of a few to come in a series called 'The Healthy Life', which will examine how to feed your spiritual life in college. Walking in the Faith is a relationship with God, and like any relationship it needs consistent growth, honest communication, and real love. When I entered my freshman year at Texas A&M, I had a much harder time in my relationship with the Father than I could have ever dreamed; to be quite honest God and I went through the driest time our relationship has ever seen. As hard as it was, I'm not sure if I would've changed one detail of it all, because through the valley God brought me to the top of a mountain, and only by being in darkness was I able to see the light. All relationships have ups and downs, and all relationships have needs in order to be healthy ones. God has offered us the best relationship that we could ever be a part of, one that promises to teach and sustain. The choice is ours to take or reject. His is the only relationship that we can truly find freedom in, the only one that breaks the chains of sin, the only one that rewrites our name, and the only one that opens our eyes to ultimate goodness. Once we enter into it, we are able to nourish that relationship. It's similar to a garden; it needs tending to daily. That's what this series will explore: how to go about nourishing the garden of God during the college years.
